Build and learn

Individual Workshops

Come to the High Peak and spend a fun and relaxed afternoon with a maximum of three other learners building your very own bee nesting box and learning about the wonderful world of solitary bees.

We’ll start the workshop with pre-cut materials, all ready for you to personalise to your own design using only bee (and eco) friendly treatments.

You’ll get to choose a design to stencil and burn onto your box making it your very own. You’ll then treat the wood in a choice of colours, before we get to gluing and hammering the final box together.

Throughout the workshop we’ll talk about how amazing solitary bees are, and why we should be encouraging them into our gardens.

Please note: unsurprisingly, this workshop focuses on solitary bees, not honeybees!

Community/ Group Workshops

For larger or Community Groups in the High Peak and surrounding area, The Solitary Bee Nursery can come to you!

Bee friendly, and hand made

Bee Nest Boxes

All our nest boxes are hand made to the perfect dimension to attract Mason and Leafcutter bees and come with full siting instructions.

Option 1: Box only (you provide your own nesting materials) - £12 each plus P&P

Option 2: Box and 20 nesting tubes (perfect for sending your cocoons to us!) £20 each plus P&P

Seed Trays

Made from bee-friendly pallet wood our seed boxes are ideal for getting your pollinator friendly seeds germinating, and also reduce plastic in your garden.

As they are made from recycled wood they are attractively rustic and will last for years!

Adult Hats (OK, random, but irresistible..)

My mum started knitting these, and I just couldn't resist. All profits go to the Nursery, and help us fund running workshops and putting up and looking after bee boxes across the local area.
